Assignment 2 Idea Mapping & Visual Abstraction

With this project we were supposed to use our collages and organize our idea for a thesis topic down onto a piece of paper using as many visual pictures as possible. Something I have recently became very interested in lately and thinking it could become a great topic is Crowds. There are many things that interest me about Architecture and Crowds. How people interact with crowds, sometime people want to be in a crowd, other times people get stuck in a crowd, people gather in certain temporary spaces for a limited time and then dissipate. There are a lot of things (Idea Web coming soon) that interest me. Here are some pictures of the work I've done recently:

IMAGE COLLECTION
This was my first attempt of putting my ideas of Architecture and Crowds visually onto paper

IMAGE ORGANIZATION
This is an attempt to narrow down my images to help show the idea of how architecture can play a roll on crowds. The thick black line represents a boundary or a threshold, while the pictures show a passage of time of how a crowd forms and what happens inside a crowd. I'm also still trying to work with the ideas of what people think and do in a crowd(people standing on their tip-toes, he said she said theory, talk, gather, try to leave, want to enter etc.)

VISUAL ABSTRACT
Architecture can influence, shape, design, create, organize, disperse, and prevent crowds. This visual abstract separates crowds by using architecture. Each crowd has its own shape, personality, and depth behind it; the architecture helps define this.
